Short North Muay Thai was founded in 2005 by Kru Hope, who began teaching out of her garage in Columbus's Short North neighborhood before moving to the current 855 W 5th Ave location in 2008. The school describes itself as a dedicated learning center for traditional Muay Thai and emphasizes respect, humility and physical, mental and spiritual conditioning.
Programs include a structured multi-week adult beginner's course, ongoing adult classes, a junior program for kids, camps and seminars, and a fight team that competes at amateur events. Several current instructors started as students at the school and hold competitive fight records.
