What academy owners ask.
What does it cost to host?
Rooms are held with a $100 deposit per room, which locks in your dates. The balance is due 30 days before the trip. Your host fee sits on top of the wholesale package and goes to your academy.
How many members do I need?
Hosted retreats start at 10. Partners, friends and family who come along count too, whether they train or not.
What if not enough members sign up?
Members hold their spot with a $100 deposit per room, and full payment isn't due until 30 days before the trip, so there's time to fill it. If sign-ups are slow, tell us early and we'll work through the options with you before anything is final.
How do members pay?
Members hold their room with a $100 deposit, invoiced by MATCO. If their plans change, that deposit isn't lost: under Jungle's Edge's policy it stays with them as credit toward a future trip there. The balance is due 30 days before departure, and we collect and track every payment.
When do I get paid?
Your host fee is paid to your academy after the trip.
Does my own stay cost anything?
At 10 paying members, Jungle's Edge covers one instructor's room and meals. At 25, two instructors. Flights and extras are on you.
What's included?
Every hosted retreat is the Jungle's Edge Gold all-inclusive package: your stay, three buffet meals a day, dinner on arrival and breakfast on departure, 2+ dojo sessions a day, equipment, the mini gym, cold plunge, daily laundry and fiber WiFi. Prices include 13% Costa Rica tax.
Can I bring my own instructors?
Yes. It's your retreat. Bring your instructors and run your own schedule, with the resort's facilities and staff there to support you.
Who handles travel questions?
We do. Members come to MATCO for bookings, payments, airport transfers, add-ons and changes, so you're not the help desk.
