Team Chitwood Martial Arts & Fitness was founded in Lexington, Ohio in 1994 and is run by brothers Shawn, Neil and Craig Chitwood. The academy is a certified Relson Gracie Academy and operates three central Ohio locations: Mansfield/Lexington, Lewis Center in north Columbus, and Marion, which opened in October 2019. The academy reports having trained more than 9,000 students and promoted 40 black belts.
Programs cover adult, teen, kid and 'Mini-Jitsu' Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, a women's program called Tuff Chicks, private lessons, and specialized instruction for law enforcement, hospitals, corporations and schools. The academy also runs community programs such as women's self-defense seminars and domestic violence shelter workshops.
