Relson Gracie Team Papakōlea Jiu-Jitsu Academy was established in January 2005 by Professor Kaleo Auwae, a 6th-degree black belt under Grandmaster Relson Gracie and a native of Papakōlea. The academy follows the Relson Gracie approach, with its stated emphasis on fundamentals, technical precision, discipline, respect and loyalty to team and community.
Classes run at two Honolulu sites: an open-air training space at Papakōlea Community Park (2150 Tantalus Drive) and an indoor studio at 505 Coral Street, Suite 200 in Kaka'ako, one block from SALT. Programs include kids jiu-jitsu from age 5, adult jiu-jitsu, drop-in classes and family plans.
