This is Prism Jiu-Jitsu's academy trip: a week where the Escondido team trains together somewhere that isn't Escondido. Head instructor Nick Angeloni leads every session, so the curriculum picks up where the academy's classes leave off — gi and no-gi, fundamentals in the morning, live rounds and open mat later in the day.
The point of an academy retreat is the people. You'll train with your regular partners, eat every dinner as a team, surf together at Playa Guiones, and come home with a week's worth of shared stories and a noticeably tighter room. Family and friends who don't train are welcome; Jungle's Edge has plenty for them. Prism members get first call on rooms, and the retreat is open to friends of the academy after that.
