Book a Trip

Most training trips force a trade-off. You either get serious mat time in a gym that happens to be abroad, or you get a beautiful vacation with a class squeezed in. Jungle’s Edge in Nosara, Costa Rica was built so you don’t have to choose. It’s a martial arts and wellness resort in the jungle above one of the Pacific’s best-known surf beaches, and it’s MATCO’s resort partner in Costa Rica.

Walk from your room to the mats

The heart of the property is an open-air dojo surrounded by jungle. Classes cover Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (Gi and No-Gi), Muay Thai, boxing and MMA, taught in small groups so you get real one-on-one attention whether you’re a white belt or a competitor. Instructors bring years of experience competing and teaching, and the schedule runs throughout the week so you can train as much or as little as your body allows.

Beyond the dojo there’s a gym for strength work, a yoga shala for mobility and recovery sessions, and a cold plunge for the moments between hard rounds. When you’re done, the infinity-edge pool on the hilltop is where most guests end up.

All-inclusive, so you can focus on training

The biggest difference an all-inclusive week makes is mental. You aren’t hunting for a healthy meal after a double session or figuring out logistics in a new country. Jungle’s Edge serves fresh, locally sourced food built to support training and recovery, and packages bundle your room, meals and classes so the only decision left is which session to join next.

  • Silver: daily breakfast, one martial arts class per day and full access to resort amenities. Built for travelers who want to train and explore.
  • Gold: breakfast, lunch and dinner daily plus unlimited martial arts training. Built for people who came to train.

Rooms for every kind of trip

Accommodation ranges from private rooms to options for friends and groups, all tucked into the property’s lush flora and banana trees:

  • Jungle Queen: a queen room with private bathroom, A/C, deluxe linens and a mini fridge.
  • Casita: one queen and two singles, A/C, private bathroom and a patio. Sleeps four.
  • Glamping Hut: a triple-netted, open-air hut with a private bathroom that gets surprisingly cool at night.
  • Lotus Grande: two bedrooms, a private kitchen and A/C. Ideal for friends or a small family.

Nosara is part of the experience

Jungle’s Edge sits about three minutes by car, eight minutes by bike or a twenty-minute walk from Playa Guiones, a world-famous surf beach with consistent waves for every level. Nosara itself is on the Nicoya Peninsula, one of the world’s Blue Zones, known for long, healthy lives. Train in the morning, surf in the afternoon, and watch the sunset from the sand. That rhythm is why people come back.

Train in the jungle. Surf the Pacific. Eat fresh, recover and slow down.

Two ways to go

Join a scheduled retreat led by a host academy or instructor, or build your own Train-cation with your own dates, room, package and add-ons like surf lessons, private training, massage and airport transfers. Either way, MATCO handles the planning, and when you build your own Train-cation you pay the same price as booking the resort yourself. See Jungle’s Edge rooms, packages and experiences.
