Few names in No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu carry the weight of Roberto “Cyborg” Abreu. An ADCC World Champion and one of the most recognizable competitors of his generation, Cyborg is bringing his No-Gi game to Costa Rica for a week-long intensive at Jungle’s Edge in Nosara.
Who is Cyborg?
Roberto Abreu is a 5th-degree Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt and ADCC World Champion who has competed at the highest level for decades. He leads Fight Sports Miami, an academy in the MATCO directory, and has taught students around the world. His approach is creative, aggressive and built for No-Gi, which makes a week on the mats with him a rare opportunity for any grappler.

The retreat at a glance
- Dates: May 10–17, 2027
- Where: Jungle’s Edge, Nosara, Costa Rica
- Focus: No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu for all levels
- Length: 7 nights
Why No-Gi on a retreat?
No-Gi rewards movement, scrambles and positional awareness, and a week of daily sessions is the fastest way to build all three. Training in a small group means more direct feedback, and drilling alongside the same partners all week lets you work on details you’d never get to in a normal class.
Life off the mats
Between sessions, recover with the cold plunge, stretch it out in the yoga shala and cool down in the infinity-edge pool. May is the start of Costa Rica’s green season, when the jungle turns lush, crowds thin out and the surf at Playa Guiones often picks up, just a few minutes from the resort.
Train with a legend. Recover in the jungle. Surf the Pacific.
